ElectraNet

Eyre Peninsula Link

GSA provided ongoing GIS assistance for ElectraNet's Eyre Peninsula Link Transmission Line Project (EPL Project). The EPL Project is one of ElectraNets major projects, which consists of the construction of a new double-circuit consisting of a 132kv and 275kV electricity transmission line from Cultana to Port Lincoln.

GSA worked closely with the land and easement support department of ElectraNet to managed both cultural heritage datasets and environmental datasets (including species of concern and significance, EPBC Records and areas of SEB offset),  in order to determine if construction plans did not impact areas of concern.

GSA also created and managed the projects ArcGIS enterprise system for the development of web map applications and in field collector systems, which allowed ElectraNet onsite personal and contractors to have constant up to date spatial data for construction, heritage and ecology purposes.

GSA also provided spatial mapping for the project and produced a EPL Project progress diagram for upper ElectraNet management purposes.

During the project GSA worked closely with other contractors including the Bungala Aboriginal Corporation, EBS Ecology, Downer, JBS&G and Tactix Land Service.

Project EnergyConnect

GSA is providing GIS assistance and mapping for ElectraNet's Project EnergyConnect (PEC) initial planning and construction phase. The PEC project will construct a new electricity interconnector between Robertstown in SA and Wagga Wagga in NSW. The proposed interconnector will span approximately 900km and will be jointly delivered by  ElectraNet and TransGrid.

GSA is working closely with the land and easement support department of ElectraNet to manage both cultural heritage datasets and environmental datasets (including species of concern and significance, EPBC Records and areas of offset).

GSA is again creating and managing the projects ArcGIS enterprise system for the development of web map applications and in field collector systems, which will allow ElectraNet onsite personal and contractors to have constant up to date spatial data for construction, heritage and ecology purposes during construction.

Lathwida Environmental

GSA provided GIS support for an ecological assessment of a proposed mining project. The GIS support included digitally mapping water sources in the project area using both aerial imagery and local government data sets. The mapping provided to Lathwida helped allow them to assess the projects impact on these water sources more actuarily.

EBS Group

GSA is providing ongoing support to both the heritage and ecology departments of EBS Group. This ongoing GIS support includes creating field maps, undertaking data analysis and producing report quality mapping for their assessments.

Infrastructure SA
(SA Government)

GSA provides ongoing GIS assistance for Infrastructure SA’s Northern Water Project (NWP) for the SA Government. The NWP is a large proposed water pipeline starting south of Cape Hardy and reaching to Roxby Downs, approximately 650 km in length.

GSA manages the projects spatial database, creates project specific maps for a range of stakeholders, manages landholder information and carries out various other GIS related tasks.

GSA works with many sub-contractors within the NWP to supply GIS assistance for whomever needs it. GSA has built an interactive web mapping application for all parties involved to use for decision making, the web application consists of many useful data layers and is continually evolving as the project matures.

JBS&G

GSA has provided for JBS&G native vegetation mapping services along with native vegetation Significant Environmental Benefit (SEB) calculations. The SEB is required to offset native vegetation clearance. The SEB calculations provided by GSA could be used by project ecologists so that the client could fulfill their obligations under the Native Vegetation Act, 1991.

Barron Environmental

GSA has provided for Barron Environmental GIS support through the creation of spatial mapping to help a weed control management project. GSA also complied SEB calculations, which are requirements to offset native vegetation clearance. The calculations provided could be given to Barron Environmental ecologists to accurately manage their project.

Ecosphere Ecological
Solutions

GSA has provided GIS support to Ecosphere on a number of ecological assessments projects. This support included mapping spatial data collected in the field to produce high quality report mapping.
